Ask a US citizen and half of us will say "that little cup of butter is not enough. Bring us extra please". Part of the reason so many of us are over weight.
And still some bakeries in France are proposing "croissants au beurre" that contain even more butter than a normal croissant, and I am not even speaking of the "Kouign-amann" from Britanny :-)
That's not correct. "Croissants au beurre" are made with butter, as opposed to "croissants ordinaires" which are with vegetable fat ("margarine"). 50 years ago when I was a kid, croissants au beurre were a special treat and not so common, nowadays they have become the norm.That's not correct.
